As It Fell Upon a Night

Unto you a child is born
In a manger lowly,
Humble, He, yet born to be
The King of Love most holy.

Happy angels from afar,
Cease your singing never!
In excelsis gloria!
Forever and forever.

As It Fell Upon a Night, pg.129 SDA Hymnal

Winter

Winter is not my favorite season. Icicle fingers and freezing wind smashing against my face are things I don't enjoy.  Snow(to a certain point) and hot tea are two things I do like about winter. Also (I am a classical music fan) of course I have to mention...Winter from Vivaldi's Four Season! In my opinion Winter is the best of the four. But you must hear it for yourself. For those of you who(like me) get wrapped up in the dynamics of classical music, the softs, and louds, the booms, and halts, you guys listen all the way through. And for those who aren't so fond of this type of music you guys can...listen to it all the way through also!

I am a tiny little saved by a big huge.

We are so tiny, tiny little, sooooo very, very, tiny little. So tiny little that our tiny little minds can't even entirely grasp the concept of how tiny little we are. We are tiny littler than cars, and trees, jumbo jets, mountains, continents, oceans, the moon, and sun. Even compared to the biggest thing we can see, we still can't grasp our tiny littleness. Compared to the galaxies, and our solar system, compared to our observable universe, we are tiny. And that's only what we can observe!! Our observable universe is tiny compared to what we can't see, what only God can see. Speaking of God seeing, He sees us, tiny little as we are, our big huge God sees, He cares, He loves.  He cares enough to pay attention to this tiny little planet, to tiny little you and I. He loves enough to come to this tiny little Earth and die for tiny little you and I. He sees our tiny little problems and tiny little worries. He made a way for tiny little you and I to be saved. And our big huge God will come back for tiny little you and I and take us to live in big huge heaven.

A list of 10 rules for Thanksgiving Day.

1. Be thankful.
2. When you enter someones house, don't throw your jacket on the nearest chair. If you are the host, take your guests jackets and put them on the bed in the back room.
3. Don't whisper around any comments about how someones food looks like it just came out of a package.
4. If you are going to watch football while you eat, don't cheer with your mouth full.
5. Don't watch football while you eat.
6. Make sure at least two people at the table know how to perform the Heimlich maneuver. Just in case anyone/everyone accidentally swallows and laughs at the same time.
7. Use a napkin, not your shirt, not the table cloth, not your tongue.
8. Do save room for pie.
9. Don't not save room for pie. (repeated for emphasis)
10. And whatever you do, DON'T burp at the table.

Did I count right?

This post is empty. Well now it's not, but it was 79 letters, 5 commas, 2 periods, 6 numbers, and 1 apostrophe ago.

This is not fake happiness!

So speaking of stargazing(check my last post), I found this great app to use! Its called SkyView Free and in case you didn't notice, its free(yays!), well actually there is a paid version, but also a free one. It's like a star chart that lines up with the real counterparts in the sky! All you need to do(generally)is aline your device facing north and then face it up to the sky and there you have it! You can move it around up and down. It will show you where the sun, moon, star constellations, Hubble telescope, and international space station are, relative to your position. Day or night. Pretty cool.
So check it out if you're interested. It is available for Apple, and I believe it also is for Android.

Oh and by the way, this post was not sponsored or anything. Otherwise I would sound all animated and talk in that fake happiness that people use to promote something.

Star+gaze= free!

Ello internet people, so yeah...I haven't posted in a bit. Not all my fault, well mostly, but not all! Anyhow, I'm posting now so, moving on. Lately we've had a bunch of clear, fall nights. Great nights for stargazing, which is something I loovvee to do! Especially in the fall, because the mosquitoes are(somtimes)mostly gone. Get a blanket and find a place to lie down outside, then gaze up at the stars and BABAM! You are stargazing! Cool huh? And uhh...hello! It's free!! Even cooler!

Even the etceteras

Psalm 28:7 KJV
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

In the morning remind yourself there will be problems, trials, etc, through the day, but that there will be no problem or trial today that God can't handle. Even the etceteras God will help you with.  Including the problems that you wont know about, the ones God will take care before you see them.  Just trust  in Him. And then at the end of the day thank Him for helping you. Praise him with your song!

What a tragedy.

“To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour.”
- Winston Churchill

Where is Waldo?

Ok so I have a few problems with the whole, "Where's Waldo" thing. You know, where you searching for a man, wearing a red and white striped shirt and hat, on a book page full of chaos. One of my problems with this is that its considered "entertainment". What?!?!?! It's stressful! Allow me to explain, you are trying to find ONE little man on a page where five million other things are going on! You get distracted by what the other people on the page are doing and why there are about 15 other people dressed just like Waldo, but they aren't Waldo(reason for stress #1)! Then you try to tell yourself that the real Waldo is right there in front of you face, so you stare even harder, therefore straining your eyes (reason for stress #2). But that doesn't stop you! No, you are a skilled detective in training, and you can spot things right away! Skilled people must have self-discipline strategies, right? So you tell yourself, "I will not eat another chip, until I find Waldo!", but when the bag is empty and Waldo is still missing you feel guilt, shame, and thirst(reason for stress #3).
Now that you feel ashamed, guilty, thirsty, have lost self-confidence, self-discipline, and the dream of becoming detective, AND have strained eyes, you give up and reach to turn the page. Just as your finger touches the page you look down to make sure you are only turning one page instead of two. You gasp! Lifting your finger off the page you see that Waldo was right under your finger! You are so proud and keep congratulating yourself as you run to go get a drink of water! The cool water reassures you that you can still become a detective, you no longer feel ashamed or anything. You run back to where you were sitting, pick up the book, proceed to turn the page(smiling as you cover Waldo up with your finger again), reach the new page...........and start the whole process over again. Yay.

That being said, here is a "Where's Waldo?" picture for you to search. If you don't know what Waldo looks like, google it.

A day late.

Ok first, sorry for not getting this post out on Thursday, I have a few excuses as to why this is late, but none are really legitimate.......soooo here is my "make up" post. And no, I don't mean the stuff you smear on your face.

The end.

That's all I have to say........

Byeeeee!  :)

God's Not Dead.

A while ago I came across a song called God's Not Dead by Newsboys. I stopped to listen to the lyrics and I liked them. They kept saying over and over, "My God's not dead, He's surely alive". Those words stuck in my head and sometimes, when things seem just horrible, I repeat it to myself. I remind myself that just a little while longer and all the world's problems will be solved.

Fall is on it's way!

Ok, I say "on it's way" because even though yesterday was the first day of Fall (in the Northern Hemisphere),Texas weather........ is well, Texas weather. Here is a summery,

and there you have it. So there is about 3 seconds(if at all) of Fall. BUT the last 2 days....have been *gasp* nice!!! You know, like between January and Summer on the scale above! Like all the dogs, cats, chickens, horses, cows, giant grasshoppers, etc...can quit panting 24/7! You can step outside without breaking out in sweat and having a heatstroke! I remember what a breeze feels like! This is porch-sitting weather! Bike-riding weather! Inhale-through-your-mouth-without-fearing-your-tounge-will-dry-out kind of weather! But of course it will probably go back to being Summerer by the end of this week, but hey, it was great while it lasted.

So to my fellow Northern Hemispherers, Happy Fall ya'll!
